Man wanted in robbery arrested during traffic stop Tuesday night

On Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, at 9:37 pm, a Turlock Police officer near El Charro Bar & Grill, 942 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The officer made contact with the vehicle’s driver and identified him as Luis Garcia, 49, of Turlock.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Garcia, he returned to be wanted in a robbery that had occurred on Sunday, November 13th in the 400 block of Julien St, where he had beaten a man and taken his property.

Garcia was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
