Bicycle Stop Leads to Probationer’s Arrest for Meth Possession

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 10:32 pm, Turlock Police Officer Gutierrez made a bicycle stop at Jura’s Pizza in the 700 block of N Golden State Blvd.

Officer Gutierrez made contact with and identified the bicyclist as Darius Thomas, 30, of Modesto.

When Officer Gutierrez had his dispatcher run Thomas, he discovered he was on searchable probation for bringing a controlled substance into a jail or prison and attempted auto theft.

During a subsequent probation search of Thomas’ person, Officer Gutierrez located suspected methamphetamine.

Thomas was arrested and released on a citation for possession of methamphetamine.
