Man arrested after burglarizing vacant home early Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, March 31st, 2021, at approximately 1:50 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a residential burglary in progress of a vacant home in the 2400 block of Wisteria Ln.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes and saw a subject exit the backyard of the residence carrying property belonging to the previous resident. Officers immediately detained him and began investigating. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that there was a second subject involved that fled in an unknown direction.

Officers placed their detainee, who was identified as Kurtis Berian, 41, of Turlock, under arrest. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of a switchblade knife.
