Man shot on freeway early Sunday morning
On Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, at 12:13 am, the California Highway Patrol, Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported shooting that had just occurred on northbound State Route 99 just south of W Main St.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a vehicle pulled to the right shoulder with a male victim inside of it suffering from a gunshot wound to his back which also grazed his head. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
Officers closed the slow lane and remained on scene for several hours investigating. There is currently no suspect information available.
The investigation remains on-going.
