Man calls 911 to report he’s feeling suicidal, shoots himself dead seconds later Friday morning
On Friday, December 10th, 2021, at 11:51 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported sick person in the 500 block of C St, Turlock, where a subject had called 911 reporting that he was feeling suicidal and was about to shoot himself with a gun.
The subject stayed on the phone with dispatch for a few minutes, however, ultimately hung up before officers could arrive. A few seconds later, someone else called to report that someone had just shot themselves. The Turlock Fire Department and American Medical Response were dispatched.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a 42-year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Crews attempted life-saving measures, however, despite their best efforts, the subject succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The gun used was a Glock 17 9 millimeter. It was recovered at the scene.
The investigation remains on-going.
