Drunk driver arrested after driving at speeds in excess of one hundred miles per hour Thursday night

On Thursday, March 24th, 2022, at 10:10 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of S Golden State Blvd and Golf Rd, Turlock, spotted a vehicle driving at speeds in excess of one hundred miles per hour heading southbound out of town.

The officer began trying to catch up to the vehicle, having to drive at about one hundred forty miles per hour himself to be able to do so. He eventually caught up with it as it approached Griffith Rd and was able to get it to stop.

The officer made contact with the vehicle’s driver, Jose Aguilar, 26, of Turlock, and had him exit his vehicle. The officer immediately noticed that Aguilar was exhibiting symptoms of being intoxicated. After a brief investigation, the officer determined that Aguilar was indeed intoxicated.

Aguilar was arrested and released on a citation on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater. He was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was impounded.
