Man with burglary warrant arrested during traffic stop early Thursday morning
On Thursday, April 7th, 2022, at 12:43 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Lander Ave and Montana Ave, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.
The officer made contact with the vehicle’s two occupants, Michael Vanwert, 38, of Modesto, and Eric Douglas, 20, of Merced, and had his dispatcher run their information. Both subjects came back with misdemeanor drug related warrants, while Vanert came back with an additional felony burglary related warrant.
Both Vanwert and Douglas were arrested on their warrants. Vanwert was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, while Douglas was released on a citation.
