Traffic stop leads to the discovery of felony warrants, firearm, and narcotics early Friday morning

On Friday, April 29th, 2022, at 12:07 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of S First St and G St, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The officer made contact with the vehicle’s two occupants and identified them as Augustin Nunez, 26, of Delhi, and Alejandro Lopez, 26, of Turlock. The officer had his dispatcher run both Nunez and Lopez. Nunez returned with two felony warrants and two misdemeanor warrants for narcotics, weapon, and traffic related charges, while Lopez returned clear.

Additionally, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a firearm that was in Nunez’s possession and narcotics that were in Lopez’s possession.

Both were arrested, Nunez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to narcotics, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm, while Lopez was released on a citation on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
