Suspended driver arrested after leading officers on slow speed two minute pursuit Friday night

On Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, at 11:18 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of West Ave S and High St, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and a slow speed pursuit ensued.

The driver, Mynor Gomez, 24, of Turlock, continued driving at slow speeds for two minutes before eventually coming to a stop in an alleyway behind the 600 block of W Main St. A high risk stop was conducted and both he and his female passenger were detained at gunpoint.

Gomez’s motive for originally failing to stop remains unclear.

Gomez was arrested and released on a citation on charges of flight from a peace officer and driving with a suspended driver’s license due to a DUI conviction. His female passenger was released.
