Convicted felon arrested after traffic stop leads to the discovery of firearm and stun gun Saturday evening

On Saturday, June 4th, 2022, at 7:03 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Save Mart, 1631 Lander Ave, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The officer made contact with the vehicle’s driver, Shaun Barlow, 53, of Modesto, and discovered that his driver’s license was expired. Barlow was arrested.

A search of Barlow’s vehicle was conducted incident to arrest which led to the discovery of a firearm, a stun gun, and narcotics. Further investigation revealed that Barlow was a convicted felon, which means he cannot possess most types of weapons, including firearms and stun guns.

Barlow was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic, possession of a stun gun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a valid driver’s license.
