Suspicious persons contact at park leads to felony warrant arrest Wednesday night

On Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, at 9:22 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Columbia Park, 595 High St, Turlock, observed six suspicious men at the park outside of hours.

The officer made contact with and identified the men, including Lewis Gastelo, 52, of Turlock, and Jose Rodriguez, 56, of Turlock.

When the officer had his dispatcher run the men, Gastelo returned with a local felony $75,000 warrant for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, while Rodriguez returned with a local misdemeanor $5,000 warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater, and possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were arrested on their warrants, Gastelo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, while Rodriguez was released on a citation.
