Suspicious incident call results in stolen vehicle arrest and recovery Monday afternoon

On Monday, October 3rd, 2022, at 12:38 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious incident in progress in the 3500 block of Amethyst Way, Turlock, after a man who had previously been seen hanging out in the neighborhood on a bicycle was seen in the back of a bus.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man later identified as Joshua Scott, 21, of Modesto, sleeping in the bus.

Officers had their dispatcher run both Scott and the bus. Scott returned with a local no bail felony warrant for burglary and the bus returned to have been stolen earlier in the day from an assisted living facility in Modesto.

Scott told officers that Michael Nisan, 28, of Turlock, was who had been driving the bus and that he was in a nearby residence.

Officers found and contacted Nisan who gave them the van’s keys.

Both Scott and Nisan were arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Scott on his warrants and Nisan on charges of auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
