Man arrested after leading officer on extremely short pursuit Sunday afternoon

On Sunday, October 9th, 2022, at 4:31 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of West Ave S and Jordan Ave, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it, however, it failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle circled around the block and eventually stopped on Jordan Ave after a very short pursuit of less than a minute. A high risk stop was conducted and the vehicle’s three occupants, including driver Rodrigo Palafox, 20, of Modesto, were removed at gunpoint and detained.

Palafox was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Palafox’s two passengers were released.
