Two arrested after shoplifting incident results in recovery of stolen property and narcotics Friday morning

On Friday, November 11th, 2022, at 11:45 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny that had just occurred at Big Lots, 1840 Countryside Dr, Turlock, after a man had just left the business with unpaid merchandise concealed in his pants.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect, Randall McCartney, 35, of Turlock, sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot along with two other adults and a child. One of the two other adults was identified as Robert Torres, 33, of Hilmar.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the stolen merchandise along with narcotics.

McCartney and Torres were both arrested and released on citations, McCartney on charges of theft, and Torres on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

    That’s BS, They go in and steal and get a citation that’s why all the prices are going up everywhere you go if they want something they can either go ask for it or get off their f****** dead ass and get a job like everyone else.
