Bicyclist riding in crosswalk suffers life-threatening injuries after not being seen by driver Sunday afternoon

On Sunday, December 4th, 2022, at 2:35 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Lander Ave and Bernell Ave, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. The first one was a black Lexus SUV and the second one was a bicycle.
The black Lexus SUV had an unknown number of occupants, none of which suffered any injuries. The bicyclist suffered major life-threatening injuries and was ground-transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
Officers began investigating and determined that the driver of the black Lexus SUV had just exited a parking lot and was southbound on Lander Ave under the speed limit, while the bicyclist was riding his bicycle across Lander Ave at Bernell Ave in the crosswalk. The driver of the black Lexus SUV did not see the bicyclist until it was too late, and the front of her vehicle collided with him.

Did you find out the bicyclist name, as our friend has been gone since 12-04-2022, he rides a bike

No, there’s no crime in being involved in a collision resulting in death unless you’re intoxicated, flee the scene, or are involved in some other unlawful act at the time.
