Man arrested after beating and injuring nephew Saturday night
On Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at 10:15 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported battery in progress at a residence in the 1300 block of E Glenwood Ave, Turlock.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 14-year-old boy laying on the ground outside of the residence with moderate non-life-threatening injuries. The Turlock Fire Department and American Medical Response responded, transporting the boy to a local hospital.
Officers began investigating and discovered that the boy’s nephew, Daniel Vasquez, 39, of Turlock, was who was responsible for the injuries. The two had gotten into a verbal argument which had escalated and resulted in Vasquez beating up his own nephew.
Vasquez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of abusing or endangering a child under circumstances likely to produce great bodily harm or death.
