Parolee arrested with meth during traffic stop Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, January 11th, 2023, at 9:10 am, Turlock Police investigators near Travelodge, 201 W Glenwood Ave, Turlock, observed a driver violating the California Vehicle Code, so they made a traffic stop on him.

The investigators made contact with and identified the vehicle’s two occupants, including passenger John Roberts, 42, of Oklahoma.

When the investigators had their dispatcher run Roberts, they discovered that he was on parole.

A parole search was subsequently conducted which led to the discovery of methamphetamines and paraphernalia in Roberts’ possession.

The investigators called a parole agent and reported to him what they had found. The parole agent found that there was probable cause a violation of parole had occurred, so he authorized that Roberts be placed on a hold while awaiting a parole revocation hearing.

Roberts was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of parole.
