Man runs from officer and leaves woman behind with metal knuckles early Thursday morning

On Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, at 3:03 am, a Turlock Police officer near a residence in the 400 block of Julian St, Turlock, got out with a suspicious vehicle occupied by two.
The man sitting in the vehicle’s driver seat immediately exited and took off running from the officer, leaving a woman in his passenger seat behind.
The officer stayed with the woman, later identified as Patricia Nieves, 40, of Turlock, while assisting officers began checking the area for the man who had ran.
Assisting officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area with a drone, however, were unsuccessful in their efforts.
Back at the vehicle, Nieves was found to be in possession of metal knuckles, so she was arrested.
Nieves was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of possession of metal knuckles.

Just out of curiosity.. Was she on probation or parole? If not why did the officers even search her or the the car? And since when does 2 people sitting in a car seem suspicious? If they don’t have a warrant and she’s not on probation or parole, they had no right to search her or her belongings! She didn’t run so what why was she detained? This is more like a police officer was on a power trip. Her case is gonna get thrown out bc it falls under the poisonous tree!
