On Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, at 3:27 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported aggravated assault that had just occurred at an apartment complex at 777 Chestnut St, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a nine-year-old child sitting in the front yard that had been stabbed by his ten-year-old brother after an argument over unknown reasons. The stab wound was determined to be non-life-threatening and superficial. The victim was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
Due to current state law, the age of the suspect and nature of the crime prevented officers from making an arrest.
The Stanislaus County Community Services Agency’s Child & Family Services Division was made aware of the incident so that they could conduct follow-up.
