Man with felony warrant arrested after being spotted by investigators Thursday morning

On Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at 8:55 am, Turlock Police investigators near the intersection of Souza St and W Syracuse Ave, Turlock, were looking for a probationer with a felony warrant and they found him.

The investigators got out with the man, Laurence Lucas, 44, of Ceres, and had their dispatcher run him to confirm his warrant. Sure enough, he returned with a no-bail local felony bench warrant for fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer in a vehicle with disregard to public safety and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person addicted to a narcotic.

Lucas was arrested and a search was conducted incident to arrest. During the search, officers located methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Officers then conducted a probation search of Lucas’ nearby motorhome and found a replica AR-15 rifle.

Lucas was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation, as well as his warrant.
