Woman arrested on felony assault want and narcotics sales warrant during traffic stop Saturday afternoon

On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, at 1:46 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Jessica St and W F St, Turlock, observed a woman driving a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on her.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s two occupants, including Veronica Penaloza, 43, of Turlock.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Penaloza, he discovered that she was wanted out of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office for assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury or death and had a $50,000 local felony bench warrant for possession of methamphetamines for sale and driving with a suspended driver’s license due to a DUI conviction.

Penaloza was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury or death, as well as her warrant.
