Bicyclist Arrested on Auto Theft Warrant After Being Recognized

On Monday, August 18, 2025, at 12:24 am, Turlock Police Officer Ayala made a bicycle stop at Park St and Grant Ave.

The reason for the stop was failure to stop at stop signs.

Officer Ayala made contact with the bicyclist and immediately recognized him as Ruben Zepeda, 36, of Turlock, who he knew had a warrant. Sure enough, dispatch confirmed that Zepeda had a $100,000 felony bench warrant out of the Turlock Police Department for auto theft and was on searchable probation for the same.

Zepeda was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for his warrant.
