On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 4:58 am, Turlock Police responded to a trespass in progress at Starbucks in the 1600 block of Lander Ave.
The caller was an employee who had received information from a customer about someone on the roof.
When Officer McCrae arrived on scene, he located Robert Pereda, 31, of Turlock, climbing off the roof. He was detained in handcuffs.
After Officer McCrae identified Pereda, he discovered he had previously been trespass-admonished from the business.
Additionally, Pereda has a history of strange behavior. Last year, Pereda was arrested after trying to open the trunk of a patrol vehicle. During that arrest, Pereda was clearly under the influence of a stimulant and unable to care for himself, partaking in acts that are seen as unusual by the general public and making nonsensical statements.
Pereda was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for trespassing.
