Wednesday morning search warrant service leads to seizure of over one million dollars worth of marijuana

On Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, at 8:55 am, the Turlock Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant at a commercial building in the 2800 block of Lassiter Ln, Turlock.

The service yielded just under 1,900 marijuana plants which weighed over 1,100 pounds and have an estimated street value of just over one million dollars.

While serving the warrant, officers discovered that the electrical wiring to the building had been modified to facilitate the use of a large amount of electricity that is needed to power the large operation.

Turlock Police Captain Steve Williams stated that the operation possessed a clear danger to first responders and neighboring businesses as the extensive modification of wiring could have overloaded the system and started a fire.

The investigation remains on-going and officers are still trying to identify the individual responsible for this large and dangerous operation. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Alex Jimenez at 209-668-6518.
