Unlicensed driver arrested after backing into unmarked police vehicle Friday afternoon
On Friday, July 29th, 2022, at 4:32 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with no injuries at the intersection of E Monte Vista Ave and Colorado Ave, Turlock, after one of their own captains had his work vehicle backed into.
When officers arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was the captain’s unmarked work vehicle, a silver Ford SUV, and the other was a gray Mazda minivan.
The silver Ford SUV had a single occupant and the gray Mazda minivan had three occupants, all of which were uninjured.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were able to be driven away from the scene.
It’s currently unknown how exactly the collision occurred, however, the gray Mazda minivan had backed into the silver Ford SUV.
During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that the driver of the gray Mazda minivan, Mariela Sixtos, 39, of Turlock, was unlicensed.
Sixtos was arrested and released on a citation on charges of driving without a valid driver’s license.
SUGGESTION: remove or edit the pic of the officers vehicle, the license plate is clearly visible and probably not great to share.
It’s an administrative vehicle, not used for anything where that would matter.
