Man arrested after drilling into apartment complex laundromat coin machine and stealing coins Tuesday evening

On Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, at 6:26 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny in progress at Patel Palms Apartments, 1545 N Palm St, Turlock, after a man had been seen drilling into a coin machine in the laundromat and stealing coins.

As officers were responding, the man, later identified as William Hanson, 36, of Turlock, got into a vehicle and began driving off.

One of the responding officers located a matching vehicle near Walgreens, 1591 Geer Rd, and stopped it.

Hanson was driving the vehicle, matched the description of the man responsible for the incident, and officers located the stolen coins within his vehicle. Hanson later admitted that he was responsible for the incident.

Hanson was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary.
