On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 12:40 am, Turlock Police Sergeant Lewis made a traffic stop in the 600 block of West Ave S.
Sergeant Lewis made contact with the vehicle’s driver, Alberto Quinones, 44, of Turlock, who falsely identified himself. Quinones’ true identity was discovered later during the stop, and he was found to have a $350 infraction bench warrant out of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office for a California Fish and Game Code violation. The warrant had been issued in 2005.
While speaking with Quinones, Sergeant Lewis noticed he displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Officer Ward arrived on scene and took over the investigation.
Officer Ward put Quinones through standardized field sobriety tests and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. Quinones was arrested and provided two breath samples at the scene, which indicated his blood alcohol content was nearly double the legal limit.
Quinones was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, falsely identifying to a peace officer, driving without a valid license, driving under the influence of alcohol, and his warrant.
Additionally, Quinones was issued a driver’s license suspension order, and his vehicle was towed.
