On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 1:08 am, Turlock Police Officer Aziz got out with an occupied suspicious vehicle in front of Travelodge in the 200 block of W Glenwood Ave.
Officer Aziz had noticed a vehicle unlawfully parked in the roadway, alongside a red curb.
The vehicle’s driver, later identified as Miguel Huerta, 45, of Merced, was contacted and required the assistance of a Spanish interpreter. As the investigation progressed, Huerta displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol, initially refused to identify himself, and then falsely identified himself.
Officer Aziz ordered Huerta to step out of his vehicle numerous times, but he refused. Ultimately, officers had to pull Huerta out of his vehicle and onto the ground. Huerta was arrested.
During an inventory search of Huerta’s vehicle, officers located deportation paperwork from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with Huerta’s true name. Huerta turned out to have two misdemeanor bench warrants out of the Merced County Sheriff’s Office for disorderly conduct, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, and driving with a suspended license.
Huerta was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for disorderly conduct, resisting a peace officer, falsely identifying to a peace officer, and his warrants.
Additionally, Huerta’s vehicle was towed.
It should be noted that during the interaction, Huerta called Officer Aziz a “fucking bitch” and “fucking Indian,” and also advised that Officer Ruiz’s father was probably an “illegal Mexican.”
