On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 4:17 am, Turlock Police Officer Conrad made a traffic stop at W Canal Dr and N Golden State Blvd.
Officer Conrad had spotted a wrong-way driver, facing eastbound in one of the westbound lanes just west of the intersection, stopped at a red traffic signal.
The vehicle’s driver, Gloria Rodriguez, 37, of Modesto, was contacted and identified. Officer Conrad noticed that Rodriguez displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Rodriguez also admitted to drinking, and when asked on a scale of 0 to 10 how drunk she felt, she replied, “100.” Rodriguez refused to participate in standardized field sobriety tests.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, Officer Conrad determined Rodriguez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. Rodriguez provided two breath samples at the scene, indicating that her blood alcohol content was nearly triple the legal limit.
Rodriguez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater.
Additionally, Rodriguez was issued a driver’s license suspension order, and her vehicle was towed.
