On Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:52 am, Turlock Police Officer Lawrence made a traffic stop at East Ave and Bothun Rd.
Officer Lawrence made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver as Alma Ramirez, 39, of Hughson.
While speaking with Ramirez, Officer Lawrence noticed that she displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Officer Lawrence removed Ramirez from her vehicle and put her through the horizontal gaze nystagmus test, which she performed poorly on. Ramirez then blew into a preliminary alcohol screening device.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, including the initial reason for the stop (running a stop sign), Officer Lawrence determined Ramirez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. Ramirez was issued a driver’s license suspension order, and her vehicle was towed away from the scene.
Officer Lawrence transported Ramirez to the Turlock Public Safety Facility, where she voluntarily provided two evidentiary breath samples. The breath samples indicated Ramirez’s blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit.
Ramirez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater.
